Burgundy Japanese Plum

Burgundy Japanese Plum

Edibles

(Semi-Dwarf) Burgundy Plum is a great addition to the home edible garden featuring reddish-purple skinned Plums that hang on this tree like glowing ornaments on a Christmas tree. A great eating Plum with a small pit and radiant, deep red flesh and a mellow but sweet flavor, these Plums ripen starting in early July. Don’t worry if you can’t eat a bountiful tree full of Plums in a few weeks because Burgundy will keep well on the tree until September or off the tree even longer when stored in a cool place. Burgundy Plum is self fertile which eliminates the need for another variety for cross pollination making it a dream Plum for those gardeners with a small yard. And, if you like the fruit, you’ll love the spectacular bloom that produces the fruit with late April to early May flowers that will light up the landscape!
