Munstead Dark Read Stonecrop

Munstead Dark Read Stonecrop

Perennial

Superb red color ? darker then any other sedum, ‘Munstead Dark Red’ gives the autumn garden a kick of color. Highly drought resistant, this clump forming perennial has deep green foliage with just a hint to blue. Butterflies flock to this easy to grow late summer bloomer with its flattened heads of deep pink-red blooms that open in mid-August. Thriving in poor soils and full sun, this showy autumn bloomer adds color in the fall as well as in the winter as the dried seed heads are very attractive covered with a cap of fresh fallen snow. The dried blossoms also make long lasting cut or dried flowers and are used by many songbirds for nesting. Plant ‘Munstead Dark Red’ in a group in the middle or front of the garden for an easy care bloomin’ show.
