Easy to grow groundcover forms a mound of heart-shaped leaves that emerge in the spring with a red tinge, mature to green, and transition to a deep red in the fall. Pure white Columbine-like flowers bloom in spring above the foliage, later than most other Epimediums. An excellent small area ground cover, edger in a shady area, wild gardens, or even mass planting under trees, where many groundcovers fall short, Niveum thrives. ‘Niveum’ is a hybrid cultivar, a cross between E. diphyllum and E. grandiflorum. Easy to grow in partially shaded areas with well-draining soils, drought tolerant and no serious insect or disease problems.
