Yellow Rhododendron are hot and this selection will do little to cool that fever down as if offers a dense, slower growing form complemented by lustrous, deep green, densely packed foliage that makes this plant a compact, rounded, landscape powerhouse. This selection has its roots in New England as a cross produced and made famous by Weston Nursery in Massachusetts so you know this is no weak sister when it comes to holding up to harsh northern conditions. It’s also no weak sister when it comes to bloom as fat, stem ending buds begin to swell in early May and open to big, round globes of creamy yellow flowers with slightly deeper throats in mid May. ‘New Century’ will thrive in partial sun and in moist, well-drained soil and will look great along a foundation or grouped to form a great broder along a woodline.
