Like all Geum, ‘Double Bloody Mary’ is easy to grow and an absolute rock in the garden. Unfortunately, there are many easy to grow plants that fade to the background…this plant is not one of those. Its deep green, heavy, somewhat coarse foliage forms a beefy mound that give rise to long, erect flower stalks that rise above the foliage and are topped by fat flower buds. These buds open in mid to late June revealing big, showy, double red flowers that will be a stunning garden addition throughout the summer. Grouping this plant in the center of a sunny bed will increase its garden color power even more.
