There have been lots of things happening in the world of Echinacea… new colors, new sizes and new scents among them, but nothing looks quite as different or as exciting as this Echinacea. This robust, tall growing plant will bud up in late June and begin blooming in July, showing off big flowers with wide, reddish-purple, reflexed rays around a big, bulbous center cone frosted with orange. Sounds normal right now, but look at the top of the cone and you’ll find another small circle of reddish-purple rays on top of the cone looking like a flowering toupee of bloom! It is a radically different look on a plant that is just as easy to care for as any other ‘normal’ looking coneflower. ‘Double Decker’ loves full sun and well-drained soils and a group planting displaying those outrageous flowers will really turn heads!
