This small specimen tree is valued for its showy, white, late summer flowers and striking yellow to orange to red fall color. Native but extinct in the wild, it was saved from extinction in colonial times and is a ravishingly unique tree for the home landscape. Perfect for partial shade. An under-used but beautiful small specimen tree. Upright branches hold dark green summer foliage and 3 to 5″ diameter fragrant white flowers from late July through August. Excellent orange-red fall color.
