This delicate fern forms a low, slow-spreading patch that gradually fills a space without being the least bit invasive. Sturdy black stems are a perfect contrast to the lacy, small, soft green leaves that line the fronds. The foliage is so beautiful it is treasured for cut flower arrangements. Himalayan Maidenhair Fern makes a charming edging or groundcover plant and is subtly superb in containers or even as a houseplant.
