A selection of one of our native North American wildflowers. ‘Vivid’ flowers in vertical rows up the spikes and open sequentially from bottom to top created spikes of color that are beautiful in the mixed border or as cut flowers. Seed capsules are attractive and can be hung for dried flower arrangements. ‘Vivid’ is especially nice in mass planting to create a wave of colorful spikes as a colorful accent and as a cut flower. Prefers moist, well-drained soil. To keep clumps in-bounds, divide every 2 years in early spring.
