Thyme to Break Out those Tomato Stakes!

It’s… TOMATO THYME! For all you people out there who live by the saying ‘the early bird gets the worm,’ we grew some tomatoes in a bigger pot that were planted early and are ready to give you a jumpstart on your garden. May 15th through the 28th, these specially planted 2.5 qt tomato plants will be on sale for $6! Normally $12, so you’ll get 2 for the price of 1 and 3 for $18 instead of $36!  I just can’t help counting out these great savings. Plant happy now, tomato sandwiches later.

Everyone has a theory or insight on when it is ok to plant your garden… the one thing we all know for sure is Mother Nature is unpredictable. Remember some veggies need to feel warm and cozy to thrive… for example, tomatoes, peppers, and eggplant are exceptionally cold-sensitive. If you put them outside too early, you are risking a lower yield or worse no yield. We always talk about our old farmer friend, twinkle toes Joe, who said don’t plant your garden till you are willing to walk in the garden barefoot.
