Butterfly Blue’ has always been the standard bearer for Scabiosa in the garden but it’s time for this old standy to move aside…there’s a new Scabiosa in town that will give your garden the jolt of excitement that you had always hoped ‘Butterfly Blue’ would. ‘Blue Note’ is noticeably different because its form is denser, tighter and fuller while its blue flowers are noticeably darker and far less ‘washed out’ looking that ‘Butterfly Blue’. The result?? A dense, mound of a plant that covers itself with beautiful blue pincushion flowers beginning in May continuing into early summer. Lost in all the blooming fury will be this plant’s fine textured, grey-green foliage and the fact it plant performs like a blooming fool without asking anything from you but half to full day sun, well-drained soil (a must for winter garden survival!) and a willingness to enjoy the show!
